Bond Markets – new products, new challenges

The Nordic Capital Markets Forum (NCMF) and the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) held the 2015 annual joint seminar.

This annual seminar reviewed developments in the global and Nordic capital markets over the past 12 months. Discussions on new funding options included socially responsible investing and green bonds which have come into the mainstream during 2014, together with progress on infrastructure bonds and efforts to create a single European private placement market.

Among the challenges faced by the markets are the continuing changes to the regulatory environment over the last year and declining liquidity in secondary bond markets which has raised concerns about greater volatility. The conference will bring together experts in local and international markets to look at the causes of decline in liquidity and how market participants are adapting their business to a new environment.

This half-day conference was held on Thursday 22 January 2015 at Restaurant Pörssi in Helsinki, Finland.
